Book Sales in Spring & Fall Each year the Friends of the Library hold two book sales,
one in Spring and one in Fall. Before each sale the Friends
clean and organize books that the County Librarian has passed
along to them from the donations received at the library. The Friends
also
volunteer the labor needed during and after the book sales.
The book sales open for
members of the Friends of the Library on Friday, and are open to everyone on Saturday and Sunday. Plus, Saturday and Sunday have free books with a purchase, and most books are $1. Rare and higher quality books are individually priced. All
book sale proceeds benefit the Mariposa County Library system.
Christmas Home Tour The Friends of the Library Christmas Home Tour began in 1992, and is held each year on the first weekend in December. This fundraising event features
visits to local residences festively decorated for the holiday season.
Homemade refreshments are served in the homes. The tour is open to the
public; tickets with tour maps are sold in advance for $10 each and can be purchased
in advance
at the Mariposa Library. All
Christmas Home Tour proceeds benefit the Mariposa County Library system.
Ahwahnee
Concert
Held every other year at the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite Valley, this
benefit concert takes place on a Sunday afternoon in November. The Ahwahnee
Concert
began in 1983 as a major fundraiser to help build a new county library.
Musicians donate their time and talent in programs that highlight a
variety
of musical styles. Tickets are sold in advance for $25 each. All
Ahwahnee Concert proceeds
benefit the Mariposa County Library system.
